Tournament Video

The Pembroke Hill School welcomed 23 teams to its Seventh Annual Middle School Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament on Dec. 8, 2012. Teams from four states (Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Colorado) participated this year! Some schools have been involved in Science Olympiad for many years, while others competed in their first ever Science Olympiad tournament. This tournament provided all teams the opportunity to compete against schools that are not necessarily in their state or region.

Because practice tournaments do not impact regional or state advancement or rankings, they are often used to allow teams to perfect their devices and to get a feel for the difficulty level of tests and labs in a tournament setting. Some teams did not bring a full team, but were looking to gain practice tournament experience. Others will use their results as tryouts for team members that allow them to form official teams for future tournaments. Regardless of prior experience, we hope all teams learned from each other and had fun!
