Rules and Regulations

  1. Attendance is required at all scheduled games and practices.
  1. Illnesses and emergencies are the only excused absences.
  1. Persistent tardies to games or practices will result in an unexcused absence.
  1. One unexcused absence results in a probationary period. The athlete will be required to be at all practices but will not be allowed to participate in the next game.
  1. Two unexcused absences will result in a conference with the coaches and athletic director and a possible dismissal from the team.
  1. Smoking, drinking, or the use of drugs will not be tolerated. To quote our athletic policy, “During the entire athletic season in which the student participates beginning with the first day of regularly scheduled practice with any part of a sport’s squad and ending with the last contest in that sport, seven days per week 24 hours per day, a student shall not consume or possess a beverage containing alcohol, use tobacco, or use or consume, have in possession, buy, sell or give away marijuana or any substance defined by law as illegal drug or controlled substance….. A student who has violated the school’s alcohol and drug policy will be referred to the division principal for further discipline.”

  1. To be eligible to participate in a practice or game, you must attend all of your classes on that day unless an excused absence has been approved prior to that day. In order to be considered for an exemption from this rule, the Athletic Director or Principal must be contacted before 8:30 a.m. the day of the requested exemption and they will review your request. This exemption will be granted only after careful review of the needed information and usually only under extraordinary circumstances.

An unexcused absence from class shall result in the student being withheld from participation in athletics on the date the violation occurs. It should be noted that unexcused absences from athletic practice sessions result in partial or complete loss of playing time in the next regularly scheduled contest as determined by the coach.

  9. All students must travel with the team to and from games by transportation provided by the        school unless excused by the coach.
