Upper School Actors Entertain PHS Young Students

Posted: April 20, 2017

Upper school students in Rachel Cain's Repertory Theatre class entertained students in early years through kindergarten with their interpretation of Mac Barnett's book, Extra Yarn, on Thursday, April 20.

The actors spent the second semester creating props, many of them adorned with yarn, and preparing their performance. Each year, the Repertory Theatre class coordinates with the early childhood division to identify a children's book that the students then bring to life in a production for younger children.

Prior to the performance, the actors visited with children as they waited for the production to begin. Following the show, the young students went on stage to interact with the thespians and to investigate the props used in the show.

As the audience members left Curry Theatre, they were excited to see yarn adorning the Wornall campus courtyard.

All in all, a great day for theatre at Pembroke Hill School!
