Introducing Kathy Merola, Director of Auxiliary Programs:

Kathy Merola Named Director Of Auxiliary Programs

Congratulations to Kathy Merola who has accepted the
position of director of auxiliary programs. In her new position,
Kathy will be responsible for Summer Programs, lower school
Extended Day, as well as other programs occurring on the Wornall
campus after the normal school day.

Currently, Kathy is the assistant in fourth grade with Billie
Howard Barnes – a position she has held since 2007. Prior to joining
Pembroke Hill, Kathy taught fourth grade for nine years in both
the Shawnee Mission and Kansas City, Kansas school districts. Kathy
has also worked as a preschool and Montessori teacher.
She holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from
KU and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Avila.

In addition to her teaching career, Kathy, along with her
husband, Guy, owned and operated a business - Oggi (home
furnishings) in downtown Kansas City for 20 years.
To help with the transition, Kathy will be training with Susan
Everett through the end of May as Susan prepares to move out of the
Kansas City area.
