Student Honors

In the Class of 2024, the National Merit Scholarship Program honored 10 Pembroke Hill seniors as Semifinalists. Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.

In addition, three seniors were recognized as Commended students, and two seniors were named either National Hispanic or African American Scholars.

The Pembroke Hill upper and middle school Science Olympiad teams have a great legacy of competing in the national tournament. Since 2010, the upper school team has qualified for nationals in 12 of 14 years and 30 times in total! In 2023, the team secured 35th place in the tournament out of 60 schools. The middle school Science Olympiad team has qualified for nationals 11 out of the last 14 years, and finished in 16th place last year out of 60 schools.

In 2024, 26 middle and upper school artists received regional Scholastic Art awards from the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. Seven students earned Gold Key awards and are being considered for national awards and scholarships.

Pembroke Hill and its predecessor schools, Pembroke-Country Day and Sunset Hill, have compiled 68 Missouri state titles in its history, the second most in the state. Since 2010, PHS has won 13 Missouri State Championships: Girls’ Tennis (2014, 2017); Boys’ Golf (2011, 2014, 2015, 2019, 2023) and Boys’ Tennis (2010-2012, 2017, 2022-23).
