Middle School Sports
Sixth Grade
Fall
Soccer (boys) - The boys will participate in the Metropolitan Private School League, MPSL. The teams in this league are area schools including St. Paul’s, Barstow and Kansas City Christian. This is a combined middle school team of students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The boys will practice twice a week on Kroh field. Uniform jerseys will be provided. Students will be required to purchase uniform shorts from the Pembroke Hill Bookstore.
Field Hockey Clinic (girls) - The field hockey clinic is a five-session program introducing students to the game of field hockey. It is led by the varsity field hockey coaching staff and is held on the field hockey field on the Wornall campus. It is held after school on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn the basic skills of the game and scrimmage during practice. Sticks and shin guards will be available to those who need them. Each player must provide their own mouth guard. The estimated cost to participate will be $30.
Volleyball (girls) - Volleyball is offered through the Metropolitan Private School League, MPSL. Practices are held twice a week in Phillips Gym. Uniform jerseys will be provided. The students will be required to purchase uniform shorts from the Pembroke Hill Bookstore.
Tackle Football (boys) - Tackle football is offered through the Kansas City Parochial School League. This will be a combined fifth and sixth grade team. The boys will practice three times a week on the varsity practice field. The athletic department will provide shoulder pads and jerseys. Each player is responsible to supply their own mouth guard, white pants with pads and cleats. The cleats need to be molded cleats, no spikes are allowed.
Winter
Basketball (boys and girls) - In sixth grade students participate in the Metropolitan Private School League, MPSL. The teams in this league are area schools including St. Paul’s, Barstow and Kansas City Christian. Teams will practice twice a week in the evening. The athletic department will provide the jerseys and shorts.
Spring
Soccer (girls) - The girls will participate in the Metropolitan Private School League, MPSL. The teams in this league are area schools including St. Paul’s, Barstow and Kansas City Christian. This is a combined middle school team of students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. The girls will practice twice a week on the Wornall campus. Uniform jerseys will be provided. Students will be required to purchase uniform shorts from the Pembroke Hill Bookstore.
Track (boys and girls) - Those participating in track and field are part of the Kansas City Parochial League, KCPL. Practices are held at 5:30 p.m. on the Ward Parkway stadium track. The exact days will be determined in the spring. The team participates in three meets during the season. The estimated cost to participate is $30.
Lacrosse (boys) - The boys participate in the Kansas City Youth Lacrosse League, KCYLL. The league separates teams based on age. Typically 6th grade students will participate in the U11 or the U13 divisions. The boys lacrosse teams are a combined team with boys from St. Paul's Episcopal Day School. Practices are held twice a week, one practice on Kroh Field and the other will be held at St. Paul's. Uniform jerseys and shorts will be provided to each player.
Lacrosse (girls) - The sixth grade girls will play on a combined team of fourth, fifth and sixth graders. They will play through the Kansas City Girls Lacrosse League. The team will be combined with players from St. Paul's Episcopal Day School. There will be one practice a week at St. Paul's and one practice a week on Kroh field. The games will be played on Sundays.
Baseball (boys and girls) - Baseball will be offered to students through the Johnson County 3&2 league. Practices will be held once a week at locations to be determined by each coach and games will be played at the 3&2 baseball fields in Lenexa. The cost to participate varies by age group.
Seventh Grade
Fall

Field Hockey (girls) - The girls will practice Monday through Friday on the Wornall Campus. Transportation is provided by the athletic department. They will play the majority of their games in the metropolitan area, but will have the opportunity to travel St. Louis and Oklahoma to compete.
Volleyball (girls) - Volleyball is offered through the Metropolitan Private School League, MPSL. Practices are held twice a week in Phillips Gym. Uniform jerseys will be provided. The students will be required to purchase uniform shorts from the Pembroke Hill bookstore.
Cross Country (boys and girls) - Students will participate through the Missouri State High School Activities Association, MSHSAA. They will practice everyday immediately after school. The athletic department will provide uniforms jerseys and shorts.
Winter

Lynn O'Toole is the assistant athletic director for the middle school. Lynn is also the chair of the middle school P.E. department and the school's wellness coordinator.
Lynn has served as the head volleyball coach at Pembroke Hill since 2001. Lynn has amassed a 276-175-31 record as head coach. Lynn has previously served as the assistant middle school track coach.
Lynn received her bachelor of science degree in education from Kansas State University in 1996. She began teaching in 1996 in the Vermillion School District, in Frankfort, Kan. Lynn taught K-12 physical education, health science as well as coached several sports, including volleyball at Frankfort High School.
