Junior Erin William is this year's PHS Poetry Out Loud winner. She memorized and performed three poems, including works by Walt Whitman, Frances Harper, and Carl Sandburg, in a virtual format. Three other students also competed in the competition: senior Andra Brown, freshman Yelisey Romanov and junior Paulina Situ.

Erin advances to the regional contest Feb. 19, at the Kansas City Museum.
