E.F. Chip Walsh ’89, President
Chip is in his second term as a representative on the Executive Committee and is the president of the Alumni Association for the 2023-2024 school year.
He is the founder and principal of Mercier Street, LLC, a commercial real estate development consulting firm. He also is a founding partner and the managing member of Sustainable Development Partners of Kansas City, a development company that has been recognized locally and nationally for its adaptive-reuse projects. Chip is a second-generation Pembroke Hill alumnus, holds a BA in political science from the University of Redlands, holds a law degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and actively practiced for several years before pursuing his interests in commercial real estate development.

Sarah Voss Hanson '99, Former President
Sarah is in her third term as a representative on the Executive Committee and is the president of the Alumni Association. She holds a BA in psychology from Emory University and a law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. She is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Kansas Bar Association. After a decade working in private practice and the insurance industry, she now stays home with her three children. Sarah and her husband Matt live at Weatherby Lake.

Kimberly Firestone Cho ’96
Kim teaches chemistry and physics at Pembroke Hill and is the head coach of the Upper School Science Olympiad team. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Rice University and master’s and doctoral degrees in physical chemistry from the University of Washington. She is a parent of a preschooler in the Early Childhood School.

Mary Greaves Hodge '73
Mary is currently working as the Finishing Manager at KC Needlepoint. She retired from Pembroke Hill at the end of the 2021-22 school year as the lower school learning coach. She began at Pembroke Hill in 2002 as a substitute teacher in the lower and upper schools. Since then, she held a variety of positions, including lower school roving substitute and faculty assistant with former fifth grade teacher Laula Ashley for 10 years. Mary also worked in Extended Day and Summer Programs. For many years, Mary was the lower school “Queen Bee” who managed the annual spelling bee. She began her responsibility as a lower school learning coach in 2012. In that role, Mary collaborated with homeroom teachers to support students who needed extra support, and has helped hundreds of children improve their reading skills. Mary’s warm and caring disposition made her perfect for this position. Mary started at Sunset Hill in the nursery program and graduated in 1973. Mary's brother Critch Greaves graduated in 1977 and her three children are also alumni: Caroline ’08, Chase ’10 and Lissy ’12. Mary's husband Charles Hodge's mother Ruth Van Dusen also graduated from Sunset Hill in 1925.

Caroline Hogan '15
Caroline is a news reporter for KSHB 41 News. She started her career after college at News-Press NOW in St. Joseph, MO as a weekday primetime anchor, then moved to Green Bay, WI to join NBC 26 as a reporter and anchor. Caroline earned her bachelor's degrees in journalism and fashion media from Southern Methodist University. Other relatives who graduated from Pembroke Hill include her brother Henry Hogan '18, her mother Christina Hogan '85 and her uncle West Valentine '89.

Foster Honeck ’11
Foster is the Chief Operating Officer at Troutwine Ventures, where he works with companies in video game publishing, film and television production, early childhood education, brewing and computer coding bootcamps. A lifelong Kansas City resident, Foster graduated from Pembroke Hill in 2011, and received bachelor's degrees from the University of Missouri in economics and political science.

Katherine Smith Marx ’11
Katie recently left the corporate world and is working towards a masters to Ph.D. program in speech and language pathology at KU. She previously worked at StaffBridge as director of business development and at Cerner as a sales executive. She is a graduate from Washington University in St. Louis with a BSBA degree in entrepreneurship and linguistics.

Floyd May III '94
Floyd is a graduate of the Howard University School of Business. His executive leadership career has focused on business process improvement and Information Technology valuation assurance in government and the private sector. Floyd is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for SelectQuote, which he joined in 2019 to help position the company for its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in May of 2020. It was the first, non-biotech, virtual IPO in the history of the New York Stock Exchange. The IPO valued SelectQuote at $3.25 billion, the largest in the history of the Kansas City area. Floyd is 1 of 4 finalist for the 2021 Kansas City CIO of The Year. In 2013, he and his wife Ledra (KeyBank Real Estate Capital) moved back to Kansas City so their two children, Zhory and Xavier could attend Pembroke Hill. Zhory, ’20 is a sophomore at Dartmouth College and Xavier is a rising 9th grader for the PHS class of 2025.

 

Mike Nixon '96
Mike has spent the last two decades in the housing industry as well as fundraising for his alma mater, Princeton University, and he is elated to bring both those skillsets home to Kansas City and Pembroke Hill. Mike currently works in residential real estate at ReeceNichols, on a team with his mother, Ann Nixon, and is also doing special projects consulting work and state lobbying with the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors. Prior to that, Mike was in Washington, DC where he ran Federal mortgage policy for Wells Fargo. Prior to that Mike worked for the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development as a Senior Policy Advisor where he drafted a number of Dodd-Frank regulations, tackled legislative reform of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and shaped mortgage policy that ensured continued access to homeownership and sustainable mortgages for all creditworthy borrowers. Prior to that, Mike was at the investment bank, Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., where he specialized in mortgage- and asset-backed securities. Mike holds an A.B. from Princeton University, where he has been Class Agent leading the Class of 2000 Annual Giving fundraising efforts since graduation. He also holds an MBA from The George Washington University Executive Program and is a proud class member of the Pembroke Hill School’s Class of 1996.

 

Russ Sifers '66
Russ is part of five generations of his family to own and operate the Sifers VALOMILK Candy Company.  He is now retired (mostly).  Russ is a graduate from the University of Kansas School of Business.  He is a passionate and involved member of the PCD Class of 1966.  Russ was the recipient of the Pembroke Hill School Alumni Service Award in 2016.

Meredith Sight '13 
Meredith is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Division of Dermatology at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. She earned her bachelor’s degree in child development from the Peabody College at Vanderbilt. Meredith then continued her studies at Vanderbilt in the School of Nursing, where she earned her master’s degree in nursing, specializing in pediatrics, prior to returning to Kansas City. Other relatives who graduated from Pembroke Hill include her brother Bobby Sight '09 and her cousins: Sarah Sight Compel '98, Zachary Sight '00 and Brian Sight '05. 

Zachary Sight '00
Zachary Sight is a graduate of the University of Kansas.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration.  He lived in Dallas, TX until returning to Kansas City in 2006 to follow in the family business.  He is the Vice President of the Bob Sight Auto Group.  He and his wife Ashley have three children.  They have students in the Early Childhood and Lower School. 

Michael Taylor '03
Michael is currently the Director of Telecommunications at SelectQuote. He has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a MBA from Baker University. Michael resides in Overland Park, KS with his wife and daughter, who is currently a student in the Lower School at Pembroke Hill. Before joining SelectQuote, Michael partnered with Agile Government Services, Inc., a local government contracting agency where he ran IT and business development to design and bring to market a modern proprietary health information technology software, and worked closely with public officials to assist with regional responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anna Toms ’05
Anna is the Assistant Head of School at Academy Prep Center in Lakeland, Fla. Before moving to Florida, Anna taught middle school English at Pembroke Hill from 2010-2020. She will graduate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with her Ph.D. in literature and the Humanities in the fall of 2023. Anna earned her bachelor's degree in literature and creative writing from Rockhurst University and a master's degree in literature from UMKC.
