Changes In Shuttle Service Announced For 2018-19

Pembroke Hill will add a second Johnson County shuttle service route beginning in 2018-19, according to James Miller, chief financial officer. “We began offering the shuttle service five years ago to help parents transport their children to and from Pembroke Hill,” he explained. “We have been pleased with the success of the program, and, in fact, this year interest in the service has exceeded capacity.”

Because of this increased interest, the school is adding the additional Johnson County route. The Northland route, James said, will remain the same. “Our intention is to continue to meet the needs of our passengers from the Northland through the current route,” James said.

The transportation routes for 2018-19 will include the following stops:

Johnson County South Route

  • 135th and State Line
  • 119th and Nall
  • 103rd and State Line
  • 80th and State Line
  • PHS Ward Parkway Campus
  • PHS Wornall Campus

Johnson County Southwest Route

  • 151st and Antioch
  • 135th and  Quivira
  • 127th and Antioch
  • College and Antioch
  • I-35 and Shawnee Mission Parkway
  • PHS Ward Parkway Campus
  • PHS Wornall Campus

Northland Route

  • I-35 and Hwy. 152
  • Hwy. 152 and N. Oak
  • I-29 and 64th St.
  • Briarcliff
  • PHS Ward Parkway Campus
  • PHS Wornall Campus

Families who currently use the shuttle service have been notified of the new options. Transportation is offered as a round trip or one way trip (morning or afternoon) every day school is in session. The service offers two runs in the afternoon for all routes to accommodate students who participate in after-school activities or whose families need a later drop-off time. Parents sign a contract by semester for this service, and priority is given to families who register for full year, round trip.
