Homecoming/Spirit Week 2018

Homecoming, along with Spirit Week, will be celebrated on both campuses next week, Sept. 10-15. Several events and activities are planned for the week.

Homecoming, along with Spirit Week, will be celebrated on both campuses next week, Sept. 10-15. Several events and activities are planned for the week.

Here are the Spirit Week theme days for each division: 

Upper School Themes
Monday, Sept. 10: Sports Jersey Day
Tuesday, Sept. 11: Twins Day
Wednesday, Sept. 12: Western Day
Thursday, Sept. 13: Decades Day
Friday, Sept. 14: PHS Day

Middle School Themes
Monday, Sept. 10: PJ Day
Tuesday, Sept. 11: Black Out Day
Wednesday, Sept. 12: Wacky Wednesday
Thursday, Sept. 13: PHS Day
Friday, Sept. 14: Sports Jersey Day


Lower School Themes
Monday, Sept. 10: Favorite Sports Team Day
Tuesday, Sept. 11: Kansas City Day
Wednesday, Sept. 12: Wacky Wednesday (Examples include: wacky socks, crazy hair, backwards shirt, etc.)

Homecoming Parade
Thursday, Sept. 13 | 9:50 a.m. 
Wornall Campus 51st Street Driveway

Upper school Homecoming king and queen candidates, as well as fall varsity athletes, cheerleaders, dance team members and Roscoe The Raider, will parade through the Wornall Campus driveway as students from the early childhood and lower schools line the sidewalks. 

The traditional chant of We Got Spirit will be heard throughout the campus! 

Hazard Lecture Series (sponsored by the Alumni Association)
Friday, Sept. 14 | 8:45 a.m.
Hall Student Center Auditorium

Speaker: Sheela Sathyanarayana, M.D., M.P.H. ’93
Dr. Sheela Sathyanarayana, associate professor of pediatrics and adjunct associate professor of environmental and occupational health sciences at the University of Washington, will address upper school students.

Field Hockey Alumnae Game
Friday, Sept. 14 | 4:30 p.m.
Wornall Campus Hockey Field

The field hockey team will celebrate its history with the annual alumnae game, pitting current and former players against one another.

Homecoming Game 
Friday, Sept. 14 | 7 p.m.
Versus Bishop Ward High School 

The king and queen will be crowned during halftime ceremonies.

All-Alumni Tailgate Party
Friday, Sept. 14 | 5-8 p.m.
Ward Parkway Campus Practice Field

Faculty and staff are invited to visit with Pem-Day, Sunset Hill and Pembroke Hill graduates at the All-Alumni Tailgate! Alumni from the ‘40s all the way to recent classes will be coming back to campus to see friends and to enjoy Pembroke Hill today.
