Pembroke Hill is celebrating Earth Day with several activities, as PHS strives to be a good steward of our surroundings.

Lower School
The lower school will host a plethora of activities next week leading up to Earth Day Monday, April 22. The division will host its annual Family Fun Run in Loose Park on Friday, April 19, at 7:20 a.m. 

The school will return to the park after pick up for this first community trash pickup at 3:15 p.m. Bags will be available in the Intermediate Building office. You may also bring extra plastic grocery/trash bags. In addition, the school has been collecting old sneakers as part of a sneaker drive with Shoe Kansas City April 15-19, and began a composting initiative that started Monday, April 15.

Middle School
The middle school will take its annual Earth Day picture on Monday, April 22, at 1:20 p.m., on the quad.

Upper School
The upper school will be concentrating on recycling education at its assembly on Earth Day, April 22, to discuss what can be recycled. The division will also be kicking off a week long battery drive. Additionally that day, the Ward Parkway Dining Room will be serving
grab ‘n go lunches for students to eat outside. 

On Wednesday, April 24, in order to get students moving around and enjoying the outdoors, the upper school is having a class competition on the football field during meetings, a modified capture the flag tournament with sponges.
