Congratulations to junior Ethan Lane and freshman Alice Guo on making the All-State Jazz Band and All-State Orchestra, respectively. The students tried out for the all-state seats Saturday, Dec. 2, in Columbia, Mo.

According to upper school performing arts chair Joel Diffendaffer, Ethan is the first Pembroke Hill student to earn a seat in the All-State Jazz Band. Additionally, he was the only pianist selected for the Band. Alice, a cellist, is the first student from PHS to audition into the All-State Orchestra in at least 10 years.

They will rehearse and perform with their respective All-State ensembles Jan. 24-27, at the Missouri Music Educators Conference in Osage Beach, Mo. Way to go, Ethan and Alice!
