Upper Speech And Debate Team Competed At Apple Valley, Staley Last Weekend; 12 Students Have Been Named Academic All-Americans

The upper school speech and debate team competed at two different tournaments Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1-2. Four members finished in the top 24 at the Apple Valley tournament in Minnesota. At the Staley tournament, three competitors were named tournament champions. Additionally, 12 students have garnered National Speech and Debate Academic All-American honors.

Here are the results from Apple Valley and Staley:

  • Anoushka Makkad finished in the top 12 in Informative Speaking
  • Lauren Lee finished in the top 18 in Oratory
  • Zoe Ganter finished in the top 18 in Informative Speaking
  • Maggie Johnston finished in the top 24 in Informative Speaking
