Sophomore Hadley Jetmore won the pole vault at the KU Relays. The varsity boys golf team defeated Barstow at Oakwood Country Club. The varsity girls soccer team defeated Blue Springs, 1-0, in overtime. These highlights and more are in this week's Weekend Raider Update. 

Track and Field
Sophomore Hadley Jetmore won the girls pole vault competition at the KU Relays on Saturday, April 20, clearing 12 feet. She also finished in sixth place in the girls 400 meter race. The rest of the team competed in the Mineral Classic at Excelsior Springs Thursday, April 18. The following are results from Excelsior Springs:

  • Joanne de Pierre - seventh place (100m - season best time); second place (200m - season best time)
  • Mia Randolph - seventh place (400m - season best time)
  • Hannah Fraga - eighth place (800m - PR)
  • Alice Guo - third place (1600m - PR)
  • Jackson Hargroves - seventh place (1600m - season best)
  • Savino Go - Personal Record (1600m)
  • Alden Breford - Personal Record (800m)
  • Aiden Colligan and Max Sproull - Personal Record (3200m)
  • 4x800 relay team - fifth place (Alden, Aidan, Savino and Jackson)

The team next competes Friday, April 26, at Holden. 

Boys Golf
The varsity boys golf team defeated Barstow,164-220, Thursday, April 18, at Oakwood Country Club. Junior Robert Green shot a 39, junior John Robertson (40), junior Henry Carnes (44) and junior Michal Heckzko (46). Previously in the week, the team won the Helias Invitational in Jefferson City, shooting a 308.

The team faces off against St. Pius X at Hodge Park on Wednesday, April 24.

Girls Soccer
The varsity girls soccer team won an overtime thriller, 1-0, against Blue Springs on Thursday, April 18, and then turned around and won a close game against Ladue Horton-Watkins, 1-0, on Saturday, April 20. Senior Rachel Legg made the winning goal against Blue Springs, and junior Dajana Pierre scored the winning goal against Ladue. The team plays Monday in the Robbie Legg Memorial soccer games Monday, April 22, at home against Lawrence High School. The JV game is at 5 p.m., and the varsity game is at 6:30 p.m. A raffle and bake sale will be happening at the game, along with a halftime penalty kick shootout contest. 

Boys Lacrosse
The varsity boys lacrosse team scored six straight goals to come back and beat Blue Valley West, 8-7, on Thursday, April 18. The team returns to action Monday, April 22, against Olathe East at the Olathe District Activity Center.

Baseball
The varsity baseball team went 1-3 in the Lebanon baseball tournament over the weekend. The team lost to South Callaway, 6-3, and Camdenton, 10-0, on Friday, April 19. The team returned to action Saturday, April 20, losing to Nixa, 3-2, in extra innings in the first game before wrapping up the trip with a 6-2 win over Neosho. The team plays away at Sumner Academy on Wednesday, April 24.

Boys Tennis
The varsity boys tennis team lost a tough match to Blue Valley Northwest, 7-2, on Friday, April 19. Earlier in the week, the team competed in the Blue Valley Northwest tournament at the Plaza Tennis Center. The doubles team of sophomores Jimmy Andrews and Ethan Wolf took seventh place in the tournament. Sophomore Henry Stevens and senior Logan Stevens also took 13th place in the doubles draw. In the singles tournament, freshman Will Greaves finished in 18th place and sophomore Aarav Yarlagadda took 19th place. The same day, the JV squad hosted its annual JV tournament, taking third place in the competition. The varsity team plays Monday, April 22, at Blue Valley West.

Girls Lacrosse
The varsity girls lacrosse team held its Senior Night on Monday, April 15. The team lost a tightly contested matchup to Lee's Summit, 6-5. Due to storms, their game versus Shawnee Mission was abruptly postponed on Wednesday, April 17. The game will resume on Wednesday, April 24. The team returns to action Tuesday, April 23, against Olathe.
