Weekend Raider Update: April 29, 2019

The varsity track and field team competed at the Holden Invitational. The varsity baseball team won the Russelville High School baseball tournament. The varsity boys tennis team took fifth place at the MICDS tournament. These results and more are in this week's Weekend Raider Update for April 29, 2019.

Track and Field
The varsity track and field squad traveled to Holden to compete in the Holden Invitational. Below are results from the meet. The team next competes at the Piper Relays on Wednesday, May 1.

  • Sophomore Hadley Jetmore - first place (Pole Vault); first place (400m); and third place (200m)
  • Sophomore Mia Randolph - fifth place (400m)
  • Sophie van Zanten - sixth place (Long Jump)
  • Freshman Anisa Arrington - eighth place (Long Jump)
  • Sophomore Alice Guo - fifth place (1600m-PR)
  • Freshman India Wiliams - (PR-300m)
  • Junior Hannah Fraga - (PR-shotput)
  • SophomoreJackson Hargroves - sixth place (PR-1600m)
  • Freshman Joshua Shaw - (PR-Shotput)
  • Sophomore Jayden Raizada - seventh place (PR-Long Jump)
  • Sophomore Aidan Colligan - eighth place (PR-800m)
  • Freshman Max Sproull - seventh place (PR-3200m)

The varsity baseball team won the Russellville High School (Russelville, Mo.) baseball tournament Friday and Saturday, April 26-27. The team went 2-1 in the tournament, losing in the first game to NW Hughesville 4-2, then beating New Bloomfield, 10-0. The team defeated Russellville, 10-2, in the third game.

Boys Tennis
The varsity boys tennis team took fifth place at the MICDS tournament Friday, April 26. The doubles team of sophomores Aarav Yarlagadda and Jimmy Andrews finished in seventh place. Senior Logan Stevens and sophomore Henry Stevens took 8th place. Sophomore Ethan Wolf and freshman Will Greaves finished 12th and 13th place, respectively, in the singles competition. The team will host its annual Senior Night Monday, April 29, against Lee's Summit North. Festivities will occur after the match that starts at 4 p.m.

Girls Soccer
The varsity girls soccer team went 0-2 in the Camdenton tournament Friday and Saturday, April 26-27. The team lost its first game, 3-0, to Pattonville, and then lost 5-2 to Visitation. The team returns to action Monday, April 29 against Kansas City East Christian Academy. Seniors will be honored on Senior Night Thursday, May 2.

Boys Lacrosse
The varsity boys lacrosse team defeated Olathe East, 8-7, on Monday, April 22. The team plays at home versus Mill Valley on Monday, April 29. The team will host the inaugural Raider Red Out Friday, May 3, against rival Shawnee Mission East.

Girls Lacrosse
The varsity girls lacrosse team lost to Shawnee Mission, 21-1, last Thursday, April 25. The team plays St. James Academy on Tuesday, April 30.

Boys Golf
The varsity boys golf team defeated St. Pius X, 145-149, on Wednesday, April 24, at Hodge Park (see results below). Par was 35. The team also finished seventh in the Richmond Invitational on Friday, April 26, shooting a combined 358. The team plays in the Class 3, District 7 Championships Monday, April 29, at Mules National Golf Course in Warrensburg.
