Girls Swimming and Diving
The girls swimming and diving team competed in seven events at the Missouri State Class 1 Championships Thursday and Friday, Feb. 15-16, in St. Peters, Mo. The team scored 30 points in the tournament, its highest point total ever. Senior Caroline Salzman took fourth place in the 50-yard freestyle and eighth place in the 100-yard freestyle. The 200-yard freestyle relay team competed in the consolation final, the first time ever the girls swimming team has competed in a relay final. The relay took 15th place in the race.
The varsity dance team competed at the Sugar Bear competition at Missouri State University on Saturday, Feb. 17. The team took first place in the dance category, second place in mix and third place in pom. Freshman Alaina Moskowitz placed seventh in the solo competition. The team travels to the state championship Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24, in St. Charles, Mo.
The varsity boys basketball team lost to Northeast High School 65-46 on Saturday, Feb. 17. The boys next play on Thursday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m., at Washington High School.
The varsity girls basketball team defeated Northeast High School 44-18 on Saturday, Feb. 17. The girls team next plays Winnetonka on Thursday, Feb. 22. The night is Senior Night for winter cheerleading, dance and girls basketball seniors. Girls basketball seniors will be honored prior to their game at 7 p.m. Senior cheerleaders and dancers will be celebrated at halftime of the game.
The varsity wrestling team completed its season at the district tournament Feb. 10. Senior Karthi Murari lost in the third round of wrestlebacks, and senior Charlie Fromm lost in the consolation semifinals 7-5.
