Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Jan. 8, 2018:

Boys Basketball
The varsity boys basketball team lost, 72-64, to Central Academy of Excellence Saturday afternoon, Jan. 6. The team defeated Bishop Seabury, 56-44, on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The team plays Clinton in first round of the Pleasant Hill basketball tournament Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Girls Basketball
The varsity girls basketball team lost, 41-19, to Southeast Saturday afternoon, Jan. 6. The game was played at Central Academy of Excellence. The girls team plays Monday, Jan. 8, against Belton in the Pleasant Hill basketball tournament.

Girls Swimming and Diving
The girls swimming and diving team traveled to Columbia, Mo. for the COMO Invitational over the weekend, taking 22nd place. The girls  team placed 22nd at the COMO invite. Senior Caroline Salzman took third place in the 50-yard freestyle and eighth place in 100-yard freestyle. Her times in both races were fast enough to qualify for state. Juniors Arrington Ossie and Emily Dickey also secured state consideration times in the 50-yard freestyle.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team and 200-yard medley relay team made the top 24 finals in their respective races. The medley relay team (sophomore Eliza Shaffer, Salzman, Dickey, Ossie) clinched 21st place. The freestyle relay team (Shaffer, Dickey, Ossie, Salzman) secured 15th place. Both relays' times are under state consideration.
