Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Oct. 1, 2018.

Cross Country
The varsity boys cross country team took second place in the white division at the Grain Valley Invitational Saturday, Sept. 29. Senior Coleman Gliddon placed 13th overall and senior Thomas Way secured 18th place overall. The girls team took third place in the white division at the meet. Freshman Ella Palmet took 19th place and senior Daniela Rodriguez-Chavez finished in 20th place in the race. The teams next compete at the Mill Valley Invitational Wednesday, Oct. 3. 

Field Hockey
The field hockey team traveled to Oklahoma City Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28-29, to play against Casady and Holland Hall. The varsity team lost its first game to Casady, 2-1, before coming back and defeating the Saints, 2-0, and upending Holland Hall, 2-0. The JV team played two very tough contests against Casady, tying them in the first game, 1-1, before breaking through with a victory in the second game, 1-0. The team fell to Holland Hall, 1-0. The "C" team lost to Casady in both its games, 5-0, before coming away with a victory over Texoma Field Hockey Club, 1-0. The team returns to action Tuesday at home against Notre Dame de Sion.

The varsity football team improved to 6-0 on the season, defeating Forsyth, 49-0, on Friday, Sept. 28. The Raider football team is now ranked 21st in Spectrum Sports' Super 25 list of local schools. It looks to remain undefeated Saturday, Oct. 6, at Central Academy of Excellence. 

The varsity volleyball team came away with a big victory on Senior Night against Center Thursday, Sept. 27. The team defeated the Yellowjackets 25-18, 25-13. The Raiders play at Lutheran Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team lost a tough game against Class 4 Blue Springs, 1-0. The team returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Northeast.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team shot a 391, its best score of the year, and took home eighth place at the Capital City Invitational at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club Wednesday, Sept. 26. Senior Emily Dickey tied for seventh in the tourney with a 78. The team begins district postseason play Monday, Oct. 1, at Shirkey golf course in Richmond, Mo.

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis wrapped up Senior Night Monday, Sept. 24, with a victory over Lee's Summit West, 7-2. District play begins Tuesday, Oct. 2, at home at Owen Tennis Complex.

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team secured sixth place at the Platte County Invitational Saturday, Sept. 29. Sophomore Nick Trainor took first in the 200 individual medley and the 200 freestyle relay team finished in second place. The team next competes Saturday, Oct. 6, at the CoMo Invitational.
