Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Oct. 22, 2018.

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team made a very successful trip to the Class 1 state championships Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 18-20. Freshman Adella Castaner won the state title in the singles competition, 6-2, 6-2, against John Burroughs' Emily Kantrovitz. The doubles team of Lynne and Jean Li secured third place in doubles, and sophomore Randi Hendricks placed sixth in the singles competition. The varsity team took home third place in the team competition, defeating Springfield Catholic 5-1. 

Football
The varsity football team completed only the third undefeated season in school history, defeating Van Horn 44-7 on Saturday, Oct. 20. The team hosts Southeast in the first round of Class 3 District 7 play on Friday, Oct. 26.

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team defeated Kearney on Senior Night 4-0. The team hosts the Class 2, District 13 championships Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 22-23, and will play in the championship game Tuesday against the winner of Center and the Ewing Marion Kauffman School.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team traveled to St. Louis for the MICDS tournament Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20, and brought back the first place trophy. The team will compete in the Class 3 District 14 semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Central Academy of Excellence.

Girls Golf
Senior Emily Dickey finished in ninth place at the Class 1 state championships on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 15-16, at Mozingo Lake Golf Course
in Maryville. Emily shot a 172 over the two days.

Cross Country
The varsity boys and girls cross country teams were off this week. They compete in the Class 3 District 8 championships Saturday, Oct. 27, at Donaldson Westside Park in Maryville.

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey team hosts its Senior Night Monday, Oct. 22, against Notre Dame de Sion. The Raiders defeated the Storm last Tuesday, Oct. 16, 4-0. 

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team had the week off. The team will compete Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Central Academy of Excellence.

Middle School Sports

7th/8th Grade Volleyball
The middle school 7th and 8th grade red volleyball team won the MPSL league tourney on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The team defeated Oakhill Day School (25-15, 25-10) in the semifinals, before taking down Bishop Seabury in the championship game (25-12, 25-20).

7th/8th Grade Football
The 7th and 8th grade football team defeated Northland 42-6 in the semifinals of their playoffs on Saturday, Oct. 20. They play in the championship game next Saturday, Oct. 27, at Rockhurst.
