Weekend Raider Update: Oct. 29, 2018

The boys cross country team is headed to state! The varsity football team won its district quarterfinal game.

Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Oct. 29, 2018.

Cross Country
The varsity boys cross country team is on its way to the Missouri State Class 3 Championships! The team placed second in the Class 3 District 8 championships on Saturday, Oct. 27, with 65 points. Seniors Coleman Gliddon (4th) and Thomas Way (6th), and sophomore Jackson Chu (15th) were named All-District. Freshman Ella Palmet (12th) and senior Daniela Rodriguez-Chavez (13th) also made All-District in the girls race and will compete at state.

The varsity football team won their Class 3 District 7 quarterfinal game against Southeast 42-0 on Friday, Oct. 26. The undefeated Raiders will host Hogan Preparatory Academy on Friday, Nov. 2.

The varsity volleyball team lost a heartbreaking sectional match Saturday, Oct. 27, against Pleasant Hill 26-28, 21-25. The team ended the season with a 27-6-3 record.

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team pulled out a victory over Center in overtime 2-1 in the Class 2 District 13 championship on Tuesday, Oct. 23. The team plays Tuesday, Oct. 30, in sectionals versus Guadalupe Centers Charter School.

Field Hockey
The field hockey team traveled to Dallas to face three schools Oct. 26-27, to finish its season. The varsity squad defeated Hockaday (3-2) and lost to Oakridge (2-1) and Greenhill (2-1). The junior varsity team defeated Greenhill (3-1) and Oakridge (2-1), and tied Hockaday (0-0). 

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team competes in the Interscholastic League Championships Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29-30, at Central Academy of Excellence.

Seventh/Eighth Grade Football
The seventh and eighth grade football team lost in its league championship game 8-0 against Visitation on Saturday, Oct. 27. The team finished its season 6-2.
