Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Oct. 9, 2018.

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey team and Notre Dame de Sion welcomed Visitation Academy to town Oct. 5-6. The Raiders fell to the Vivettes in their first game on Friday, 2-1, before coming back and securing a tie, 1-1, in their second contest on Saturday. The team next plays Oct. 12-13, in St. Louis against Westminster Christian Academy, Villa Duchesne and Visitation.

Football
The varsity football team improved their record to 7-0 by defeating Central Academy of Excellence, 49-0, on Saturday, Oct. 6. The team hosts Summit Christian Academy Friday, Oct. 12, on Senior Night for cheerleading, cross country, football and girls golf.  

Girls Golf
Three members of the varsity girls golf team competed at sectionals Monday, Oct. 8, in St. Joseph. Senior Emily Dickey placed third with an 86 and moved on to the Missouri Class 1 Girls Golf State Championships. Junior Allison Moody narrowly missed qualifying with a 105. Sophomore Lillian Cooper shot a 124 at the competition. The state competition will be held at Mozingo Lake Recreational Park Course in Maryville, Mo.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team captured second place at the St. Joseph Benton volleyball tournament Saturday, Oct. 6. After a tie with Maryville in their first match, the team went on a roll, winning four straight matches. The team ultimately lost to St. Joseph Central in the championship match, 2-0 (19-25, 21-25). The team returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy.

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team traveled to the CoMo Invitational Oct. 5-6, in Columbia. The 200 medley relay team of juniors Jared Cambier and Will Grant, and sophomores Luke Donovan and Nick Trainor, placed 30th overall in their race, which put them 11th overall in Class 1 schools. Additionally, Nick placed 28th in the 50-freestyle race, and 30th in the 100-freestyle race. The team competes Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Gladstone Community Center. 

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team will send two singles players and one doubles team to the Missouri State Class 1 individual championships. Sophomore Randi Hendricks and freshman Adella Castaner both won their sectional matches 6-0, 6-0, on Monday, Oct. 8. The doubles team of junior Lynne Li and sophomore Jean Li punched their ticket with a 6-0, 6-1, victory over St. Pius X. The team competes in team sectionals and potentially quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Owen Tennis Complex.

Cross Country
The varsity cross country team competed at the Mill Valley Cat Classic on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Shawnee Mission Park. The boys team placed seventh in their respective race, and the girls took home eighth place. Senior Coleman Gliddon finished in 14th place, and senior Thomas Way took 38th place in the boys race. Senior Daniela Rodriguez-Chavez was the top girls runner, placing 33rd in the race, while freshman India Williams secured 39th place. The team next competes Thursday, Oct. 11, in Warrensburg.
