Pembroke Hill’s general policy is to hold school whenever possible during inclement weather. The decision to cancel school will be made by 6:15 a.m.

Rather than cancel school or risk driving during early morning traffic when road conditions are at their worst, PHS occasionally may delay the start of school until 10 a.m. If there is a late start announced, there will be no childcare prior to 10 a.m.

If there is a late start because of inclement weather, and it occurs on a late start day for the Ward Parkway Campus, school will begin at 10 a.m.

When there is a late start, the school vans will begin their routes on the following schedule:

Northland Route
8:50 a.m.

Southwest Route
8:50 a.m.

South Route
9 a.m.

We will communicate our decision through local media and on the school’s website at www.pembrokehill.org; Facebook at www.facebook.com/pembrokehillschool and Twitter at @pemhillschool.

Families will also receive an email, voicemail and text message (if the school has the parent’s cell number). Additionally, parents may call the school’s main number 816-936-1200 for an updated recorded message. During high cell phone use periods, the receipt of text messages may be delayed.

In the event no announcement is made, school will be in session.

When driving conditions or distance from school prevent a student from being here, the absence will be excused, and the student will have the opportunity to make up work missed.
