The varsity boys cross country team qualified two runners to the Missouri Class 3 Boys and Girls Cross Country Championships next Saturday. The varsity boys soccer and swim teams compete this week in postseason contests. Here is your Fall Sports Postseason Update for Nov. 4, 2019.
The varsity boys and girls cross country teams competed Saturday, Nov. 2, in the Missouri Class 3, District 7 Championships at Warrensburg High School. Junior Jackson Chu (ninth place) and junior Jackson Hargroves (12th place) qualified for the Missouri Class 3 Boys and Girls Cross Country Championships next Saturday, Nov. 9, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo Sophomore Tate Angrist came so close to qualifying, finishing in 17th place. The top 15 qualify for the state meet.
The varsity boys soccer team opens the Missouri Class 2, District 14 Championships as the second seed and will play Monday, Nov. 4, at home against Cristo Rey. Pembroke Hill is the host of the tournament.
The varsity boys swim team will compete in the Interscholastic League Championships Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 4-5, at Central Academy of Excellence.
The third seeded varsity football team lost its Missouri Class 3 District 8 first round matchup against Benton, 40-27, Friday, Nov. 1. The team ended the season 7-3.
The top-seeded varsity volleyball team lost in the Missouri Class 3, District 14 championship against St. Michael the Archangel in a hard fought match Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2-1 (25-19, 17-25, 21-25). The team previously defeated Hogan Preparatory Academy 2-0 (25-8, 25-12) in the semifinals on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The team finished its season 21-10-5.
The varsity girls tennis team took second place at the Missouri Class 1 Girls Tennis State Championships Thursday, Oct. 24, in Springfield, Mo. The team defeated Springfield Catholic, 5-0, in the semifinals before falling to rival John Burroughs in the championship match. Individually, junior Alisha Castaner took home fourth place in state singles, and the doubles teams of seniors Lucia Wolfe and Lynne Li, and senior Anna Stechschulte and freshman Marlena Smith, placed fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the doubles tournament Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25-26.
The varsity girls golf team took sixth place at the Missouri Class 1 Girls Golf State Championships Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21-22, at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa, Mo. Senior Allison Moody was the top Raider finisher, securing 37th place.
