Fall Sports Postseason Update: Nov. 8, 2021

Boys and girls cross country runners competed in the Class 3 state championships. The varsity volleyball team brought home third place in the Class 4 state championships. The boys swimming and diving team placed second in the Interscholastic League Championships and qualified in eight events at the Class 1 state championships. Here is your Fall Sports Postseason Update for Nov. 8, 2021.

Cross Country
The girls cross country team and two boy runners competed in the Class 3 state championships Saturday, Nov. 6, in Columbia, Mo. The girls team finished in sixth place with 193 points. Eden Young was the top girls finisher, placing 23rd and earning All-State honors. 

Team Results:

  • Eden Young (23rd place and All-State)
  • India Williams (55th place)
  • Erin William (71st place)
  • Tate Angrist (105th place)
  • Sarah Stockman (113th place)
  • Reaghan Gaffney (132nd place)


Two boys cross country runners competed in the state championships. Andrew Greaves finished in 119th place and Max Sproull completed his race in 145th place.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball brought home third place in the Class 4 state championships on Thursday, Nov. 4, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The team defeated Nerinx Hall in the third place in three sets, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17. The team lost its semifinal match Thursday morning to Logan-Rogersville in three sets, 20-25, 20-25, 11-25.

Boys Swimming and Diving
The swimming and diving team took second place last week at the Interscholastic League Championships, with a team score of 408.5 points.

  • First Place: 200-yard freestyle relay
  • First Place: Diving (Zach Berg)
  • First Place: 200-yard IM (Nicholas Frank)
  • First Place: 100-yard backstroke (Nicholas Frank)
  • Second Place: 100-yard freestyle (Jack Embry)
  • Second Place: 100-yard breaststroke (Brooks Rixson)
  • Third Place: 50-yard freestyle (Andrew Kim)
  • Third Place: 400-yard freestyle relay


Diver Zach Berg won the Class 1 District 4 championship on Friday, Nov. 5, with a score of 408.15.

Over the weekend, the team found out that it qualified in eight out of 11 events at the Class 1 state championships Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11-12, in St. Peters, Mo.

  • 50 Free: Andrew Kim
  • 100 Backstroke: Nicholas Frank
  • 100 Breaststroke: Andrew Kim
