Five Seniors Named Presidential Scholar Candidates

Congratulations to seniors Dermot O'Connor, Catherine Panko, Phillip Park, Alex Vos and Armaan Yarlagadda, who have been invited to apply to become a U.S. Presidential Scholar. Students are approached to become candidates based on their scores on the SAT or ACT exam, or nominated by a chief state school officer. Students may also be nominated from one of the program's partner recognition organizations during the student's graduation year.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Each year, up to 161 students are named as Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students.
