Head of school Brad Shelley communicated with the Pembroke Hill community this week about the school's plans to open school on campus.
Over the last several weeks, faculty, staff and Trustees, who are members of the Continuous Learning Task Force and subcommittees, the Operational Task Force and the Board of Trustees Health Impact and School Triggers Task Force, have worked tirelessly to determine the best ways to continue the school's teaching and learning while prioritizing the health and safety of students, families, faculty and staff. The school's partnerships with MRIGlobal and the organizations represented on the advisory committees have been invaluable.
Pembroke Hill's intention is to open the 2020-21 school year on campus. As this is an ever-changing environment, the school officials know that plans and procedures may need to be adjusted as it goes through the rest of the summer and into the fall. Pembroke HIll's goal is that by making appropriate plans now it will be ready to adapt quickly, if needed, based on recommendations from MRIGlobal, the CDC and local health officials. The school has created a continuous learning webpage to highlight these plans. In addition, Pembroke Hill will be hosting a future Parent Town Hall Zoom meeting for PHS families to learn more about the reopening plans.
While COVID-19 is changing how we learn, teach and come together as a community, Pembroke Hill will remain welcoming, fun, engaging, creative and inspiring, and will never lose sight of what makes it unique.
