Pembroke Hill has announced that Ryan Webb will take on the role of varsity head volleyball coach beginning with the 2023 season. Ryan’s 10-year coaching career has included leading programs from middle school to the collegiate level. He comes to Pembroke Hill from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kan. where he led the men’s volleyball program and served as assistant coach for the women’s team.

"I am excited for Ryan to be our next head volleyball coach at Pembroke Hill,” explained Amanda Lehotak, PHS director of athletics. “We have a long standing tradition of volleyball excellence thanks to Lynn O'Toole, who is moving into the associate athletic director position. I believe Coach Webb will continue this tradition."

Prior to Ryan’s role at Kansas Wesleyan University, he served as both the women’s and men’s volleyball coach at Central Christian College in McPerson, Kan. As the women's assistant coach at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, he helped the team to a 31-5 overall record. In 2015, the team finished 12-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference(SCAC) and won the conference title that season.

Additionally, Ryan’s athletes have been named Academic All-American, American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region and All-Conference.

He has also coached a variety of levels of volleyball at Varitas Academy, a PK to 12th grade private school in Austin, Texas. As their varsity coach, the team was the division champion.

In college, Ryan played at Mary Hardin Baylor, where he was named Second Team All-American in 2014.

Ryan has also had an extensive playing career including professionally for the Australian New South Wales Men’s team as well as in Germany and New Zealand.  In 2018, he was part of the Team USA Pipeline that won a bronze medal.

He earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Texas in 2016, and is currently a case manager at Cornerstones of Care.

“I am looking forward to working alongside the staff, athletes and Pembroke Hill community to take the program to the next level,” Ryan said recently. “I am grateful for the opportunity to join an environment that has students as its focus.”

Please welcome Ryan to the Pembroke Hill family!
