The Pembroke Hill community celebrated the school’s future during the kick-off of the Building Together capital campaign, a wonderful evening of celebration at the Raider Rally on Friday, Oct. 25.  Held in the Pierson Gym, the event honored the Pembroke Hill’s past while building excitement for the future transformation of the Ward Parkway Campus.

Those attending the Rally enjoyed a tailgate dinner, popcorn and cotton candy.  They received commemorative rally towels, and children enjoyed coloring sheets featuring the new construction.  Additionally, the upper school robotics team demonstrated their robot to eventgoers as they entered the gym.

During the evening, construction renderings were featured on large screens near the state. The formal program featured head of school Brad Shelley who recognized the school’s Board of Trustees and the campaign leadership for their dedication to the school and the project.  He also welcomed members of the Pierson family, who provided funds for Pierson Gym, which opened in 1961. (Pierson Gym will come down as part of the renovation project.)

The highlight of the program, however, was the first-ever performance of the alma mater by a cross-campus choir that featured students from the lower, middle and upper schools.

Brad closed the program by asking every student who participates in arts, athletics, PE, robotics, debate, eats or plans to eat in the Hall Student Center, spends time on the quad or hopes to walk across the stage at graduation to wave their rally towels.  It was an impressive sight!

The program culminated with music and confetti!

After the Raider Rally, individuals headed to the upper school art exhibit and fall play in Hall Student Center or the final football game of the season at the stadium.

It was a great night of celebration for Pembroke Hill!
