Third Graders Test Games In Maker Challenge
Andrew Mouzin

Third graders in Karen Wilson and Kim Renetzky's class developed innovative and interactive games as part of their maker challenge Friday, April 23. The students developed a game using whiffle balls, cups, string, rackets, balloons and duct tape.

Guided by the engineering design process, this project provided an open-ended problem for students to solve in a self-directed, hands-on way. The activity was a precursor to Market Day to help them develop problem-solving skills. Market Day will be held May 18 (rain date May 20) and for fourth graders only.
