Three Students Qualify For National History Day Contest

Missouri state results for the National History Day are in and PHS did a tremendous job. Three students placed in the top two of their respective categories and advanced to nationals. Third place competitors serve as an alternate. The national contest will be held virtually June 12-16.

Congratulations to:

  • Elan Jiang - First place (Paper) The Art of Debate and Diplomacy: The Cultural Arms Race Between the United States and the Soviet Union 
  • Johnny Honnold - Second place (Performance) Then and Now: The Debate Over Vaccination
  • Caroline Kroh - Second place (Exhibit) Debate and Diplomacy of Alice Paul's Efforts in the Creation of the Equal Rights Amendment
  • Coleson Myers - Third place (Exhibit) U2 Can Be a Diplomat
