The upper school robotics team captained its alliance to a third place finish at the First Tech Challenge Qualifying Tournament Saturday, Dec. 14, at Knob Noster High School.

The team and its robot went 4-1 in preliminary matches, before serving as captain of the alliance. The team also was awarded the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award,  which is given to the team that has the most innovative and creative robot design solution to any specific components in the FIRST Tech Challenge game. Elements of the award include elegant design, robustness and ‘out of the box’ thinking related to design.
