US Speech And Debate Squad Earns Sweepstakes Victories At Liberty

The upper school speech and debate team recently competed in the Liberty Tournament, one of the largest in the region. The team swept the team awards, and several students received bids to compete in the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC) competition. Freshman Mahad Amin triple broke at the tournament, becoming the 16th PHS student ever to accomplish the feat. 

Additionally, Truman Connor and Armaan Yarlagadda placed third in the Samford Tournament of Champions (TOC) policy debate competition, earning its first TOC bid. This is the first time a PHS team has received a bid for the event in 12 years!
