The varsity boys basketball team took eighth place at the Championship Showdown at Shawnee Mission East. The varsity dance team took home first place with its mix routine at the Kansas City Classic in Liberty. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Dec. 16, 2019.

Boys Basketball
The varsity boys basketball team took eighth place at the Championship Showdown at Shawnee Mission East last week. The lost to Blue Valley North, 80-50; lost to Grandview Christian, 66-40; and were upended by Barstow, 70-62. The boys C team defeated St. James Academy, 34-31, today (Saturday). The team plays Lincoln College Preparatory Academy Friday, Dec. 20, at the Interscholastic League Field House. Game time is 6 p.m.

Dance
The varsity dance team competed at the Kansas City Classic Saturday, Dec. 14, at Liberty High School. The squad took home first place with its mixed routine and qualified for the state competition in February. The group will attempt to qualify its soloists and another routine to state at the Sugar Bears Invitational Jan. 25, at Missouri State University in Springfield.
 

Girls Basketball
The varsity girls basketball team lost to St. Michael the Archangel in a nail biter, 47-44, last Thursday, Dec. 12. The team faces Lincoln Prep Friday, Dec. 20, at the IL Field House. Game time is 7:30 p.m.


Middle School Basketball Scores

• The eighth grade girls basketball Red team defeated Christ Prep, 29-25, on Thursday, Dec. 12.
• The seventh grade girls basketball Red team won, 27-8, against Bishop Seabury on Thursday, Dec. 12. The team also defeated St. Paul's, 48-12, on Tuesday, Dec. 10. 
• The seventh grade girls basketball Blue team lost to Northland Christian, 36-11, on Saturday, Dec. 14. The team defeated St. Paul's earlier in the week, 21-12, on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
• The sixth grade boys basketball Blue B team defeated Summit Christian Academy, 17-13, on Thursday, Dec. 12.
• The sixth grade boys basketball Red A team defeated SCA, 62-4, on Thursday, Dec. 12. The team also defeated St. Paul's, 39-15, on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
• The sixth grade girls team lost to Northland Christian, 19-10, on Saturday, Dec. 14. The team also defeated St. Paul's, 51-1, on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
