The varsity boys basketball team played in the Norm Stewart Classic in Columbia, Mo. The girls basketball team traveled to Cameron last Friday. The varsity girls swimming team competed in Omaha, Neb. on Saturday. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Monday, Dec. 19, 2022.
The varsity boys basketball team defeated Kankakee (Ill.) High School, 58-38, in the Norm Stewart Classic early Saturday morning, Dec. 17, in Columbia. Senior Darin Conley led the Raiders with a double-double, 19 points and 22 rebounds, and was named MVP of the game. Senior Andrew Kim added 14 points, including four three-pointers, in the winning effort.
The team next plays Rockhurst in the first round of the William Jewell Holiday Classic Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 1:30 p.m. Four game session tickets cost $10 and can be purchased in advance here. Tickets will be available for purchase on site at the gate, but fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance online. The games are being live streamed through MSHSAA TV. Single game live streaming passes are available for $10, while tournament passes are $50.
The varsity girls basketball team made it four in a row, as it defeated Cameron, 45-22, on Friday, Dec. 16, in Cameron. Junior Holly Woods led the way with 16 points, four rebounds and four assists. Freshman Charlie Windmann finished with eight points and five rebounds on the night.
The squad plays today, Monday, Dec. 19, at noon, in the 12 Courts of Christmas Shootout at HyVee Arena. The team takes on Lafayette High School from St. Joseph. Tickets can be purchased at the door ($10 for adults and $5 for students) or online. The game will also be live streamed here.
The varsity girls swimming team traveled to Omaha, Neb., to compete in the Omaha/Elkhorn Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 17.
