Weekend Raider Update: Feb. 3, 2020

The varsity girls basketball team took third place in the inaugural Richmond Classic. The varsity girls swimming and diving team took 16th place in Springfield. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Feb. 3, 2020.

Girls Basketball
The varsity girls basketball team secured third place in a double overtime thriller Saturday, defeating Excelsior Springs, 63-58, in the Richmond Classic. Freshman Catherine Goodwin made the All-Tournament team. The team hosts Kansas City East Christian Academy tonight, Feb. 3. 

Girls Swimming and Diving
The varsity girls swimming and diving team took home 16th place at the Springfield Invitational. Junior diver Gaby Bortnick took home 11th place, and fellow junior diver Meg Mooney placed 14th. Sophomore Ella Palmet medaled and took third place in the 500-yard freestyle with a state consideration cut time. She also placed 10th in the 200-yard freestyle. Freshman Remley Grant pulled swam a state consideration cut time of 27.08 in the 50-yard freestyle, her fastest time of the season. 

Boys Basketball
The varsity boys basketball team lost a nail-biter to Metro Academy on Friday, 60-57. The team returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 4, at home against Grandview Christian.

Middle School Basketball Results
The 6th grade boys basketball blue team defeated Hyman Brand, 36-26, on Saturday.
The 6th grade girls basketball red team defeated Northland Christian, 35 - 20, on Thursday, Jan. 30.
The 7th grade girls basketball red team defeated Barstow, 35-4, on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The 7th grade girls basketball blue team lost to Summit Christian Academy, 11-7, on Monday, Jan. 27.
