The varsity dance team placed fourth in the mix routine category at state. The varsity boys and girls basketball teams ended their seasons in the first round of districts. First practices for spring sports begin today. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for March 2, 2020.

Dance
The varsity dance team took fourth place in the mix routine category at the Missouri Dance Team Association's state tournament Friday and Saturday in Kansas City. Additionally, 10 dancers were named to the All-Academic team: Karen Alba, Dakotah Brown, Joanne de Pierre, Avery Evans, Anna Garren, Louisa Gear, Ryce Herron, Avery McFeeters, Alaina Moskowitz and Ava Sweeney. Head dance coach Tina Budzinski was honored with a 20-year coaching award. Well done, Raiders!

Girls Basketball
The varsity girls basketball team lost a tough contest in the first round of district play, losing Saturday to host Oak Grove, 49-45. Earlier in the week, the girls team lost to Bishop Ward, 58-37. Congratulations on a great season, Raiders!

Boys Basketball
The varsity boys basketball also lost in its opening round of districts, losing Saturday to a tough Grain Valley squad, 62-53. The team defeated Bishop Ward last Tuesday, Feb. 25, 60-41, on Senior Night and lost to Bishop Seabury last Thursday, Feb. 27, 70-46. Junior Liam Weaver was honored prior to the Bishop Seabury game for going over the 1,000 point mark against Barstow the previous week. Congratulations on a great season, Raiders!
