The varsity boys tennis tennis team defeated Rockhurst. The varsity boys golf team is playing at districts. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for May 10, 2021.
The varsity boys tennis team upended Rockhurst in an unbelievable match last Wednesday, May 5. The team lost its opening three doubles matches, then roared back to win five of six singles matches to pull out the victory. Additionally, sophomore Trey Lambright and senior Jimmy Andrews punched their tickets to the individual state singles tournament May 20. Trey, the top seed, advanced with victories over players from Blue Springs South and Rockhurst. Trey ultimately won the district title over Jimmy, who had previously defeated players from North Kansas City and Blue Springs South. The doubles teams of seniors Aarav Yarlagadda and Ethan Wolf, and sophomores Armaan Yarlagadda and Buzz Stevens, took home third and fourth place, respectively. The team is the top seed in team districts and will play the winner of Blue Springs and Park Hill South Tuesday, May 11, at 4 p.m. at Owen Tennis Complex.
The Class 5, District 4 championships began this morning, May 10, for the varsity boys golf team. Good luck today, gentlemen!
The varsity girls lacrosse team ended its season with a victory over Olathe, 7-5, on May 5. The team also celebrated its seniors on Senior Night, last Tuesday, May 4. The girls fell to St. James Academy, 14-3. Photos can be seen on the school's Facebook page.
The varsity baseball team celebrated its seniors last Wednesday, May 5, with a big victory over Benton, 7-6. Photos from senior night can be seen on the school's Facebook page. The team turned around the following day, May 6, and fell to Odessa, 17-2. Over the weekend, the team split its games, defeating Excelsior Springs, 6-5, and losing to Willard, 10-5.
The varsity boys lacrosse team lost to rival Shawnee Mission East last Friday, May 7, 13-7. The team will play in the playoffs. Times and dates are TBD.
Track and Field
The varsity track and field team competed at the Piper Relays May 5. The boys placed 5th as a team. The team also highlighted its seniors at the girls lacrosse Senior Night. See photos on the school's Facebook page.

The varsity girls soccer team lost to two tough opponents last week, falling to Platte County, 2-0, and St. Michael the Archangel, 2-1.

The varsity boys soccer team was honored at halftime of the varsity girls lacrosse for its third place finish in the Missouri Class 3 boys state championship. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there was no presentation in the fall. The team shared third place with the other semifinalist, Glendale. There was not a third place game this year.
