The varsity girls golf team competed in Belton. The field hockey and football teams celebrated their seniors. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Oct. 5, 2021.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team is gearing up for districts by playing multiple tournaments at the district course site in Belton. The team on Wednesday, Sept. 29, played against St. Teresa's Academy and Notre Dame de Sion at Eagles' Landing golf course. The team placed second with a team score of 180. The team played yesterday at Eagles' Landing against such teams as Summit Christian Academy, St. Teresa's Academy and St. Michael the Archangel. The placed second with a score of 377. Senior Campbell Nystrom (89) placed third and junior Ava Rasmus secured fourth place (91).

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey team celebrated its seniors on Senior Night Thursday, Sept. 30, against Notre Dame de Sion. The team upended the Storm, 3-0. Senior Sophia Standard scored two goals, while junior Kate Wollard added a goal and an assist. Senior Piper Toney also added an assist. 

Football
The varsity football team highlighted its seniors Friday, Oct. 1, against Lincoln College Preparatory Academy. The team played hard and closed the gap to 14-7 in the first quarter before the Blue Tigers began to pull away. The Raiders lost, 45-7.

Boys Swimming and Diving
Sophomore diver Zach Berg placed sixth at the Kansas City Classic Invitational Saturday, Oct. 2, with a district qualifying score.

Cross Country
Both boys and girls teams secured first place in their respective White Divisions at Grain Valley on Saturday, Oct. 2. Sophomore Andrew Greaves was the top boys runner, finishing in sixth place. Freshman Eden Young was the top girls finisher, nabbing second place honors.

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team is playing some incredible soccer. The team shutout St. James Academy, 3-0, on Saturday, Oct. 2. Junior Aidan Lacy scored the hat trick (3 goals). Senior goalie Johnathon Dickey notched the shutout. The team defeated Bishop Miege, 4-0, on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Senior Alex Post, Aidan, senior Garrison Hill and junior Ben Priestland tallied the goals. The team hosts historic rival Rockhurst this Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team fell in four sets to a tough Pleasant Hill squad (17-25, 22-25, 25-20, 20-25), on Thursday, Sept. 30. 

Girls Tennis
Junior Marlena Smith took second place at individual singles districts on Saturday, Oct. 2. She moves on to compete in the Class 3 individual singles state championships Oct. 14-16 in Springfield, Mo. Freshman Aubrey Castaner placed third in the singles competition, and the team of Emma Harris and Isabella Legaz grabbed fourth place in doubles. The varsity tennis team defeated Raytown, 5-0, yesterday in the first round of district play.
