The varsity boys swimming and diving team took third place in Belton. The varsity boys soccer team competed in the KC Classic. The field hockey squad played in Oklahoma. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Sept. 12, 2022.

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team competed against 19 schools at the Belton Pirate Invitational Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10. The team placed third in the gold division, scoring 300 points. Junior diver Zach Berg took second place on Friday and broke his 11-dive school record at Belton with 459.05 points. The previous record was 420.35 points. He turned around Saturday and won the Lee's Summit Invitational.

The diving team will compete Friday, Sept. 16, at the North Kansas City Invitational at the Gladstone Community Center, and Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Henley Aquatic Center in Independence. The swimming team will also compete in Independence.

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team went 1-2 at the KC Classic last week. The team fell to Lincoln College Preparatory Academy in a close match, 3-2, on Monday, Sept. 6. The team came back and defeated a tough Lee's Summit West team, 3-1, on Tuesday, Sept. 7. In the final contest, the team lost to St. Michael the Archangel, 3-1. 

The team will look for redemption on Tuesday, Sept. 13, as it hosts Lincoln Prep on the Stadium Field.

Field Hockey
The field hockey team traveled to Oklahoma City to take on Casady and Holland Hall on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10.

The JV and Varsity teams play at Sion on Tuesday, Sept. 13. The varsity squad plays its first game on the new artificial turf field on Friday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m., against St. Joseph's Academy.

Cross Country
The cross country team opened its season in St. Louis on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Forest Park Festival. The boys team placed 10th in the White division. Freshman Henry Pickert was the top PHS boys finisher in 14h place. Three varsity girls team members ran in the white division. Freshman Usoshi Pedraza-Si was the top PHS girls finisher in 50th place.

The team competes in the Platte County Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 15.

Football
The varsity football team played a tough Lincoln Prep team on Friday, Sept. 9, falling to the Blue Tigers, 47-7. The squad plays St. Michael on Friday, Sept. 16, on the Stadium Field. It's also the All-School BBQ game. Game time is 7 p.m.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team placed sixth at the Blue Springs South Jaguar Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Lakewood Oaks Country Club. The team shot 378 on the day. Seniors Ava Rasmus (13th) and Catherine Panko (15th) medaled.

The team also competed at Brookridge Golf and Fitness on Thursday, Sept. 8, against Park Hill and St. Teresa's Academy. The team shot 203, placing third. Ava shot a 41 and Catherine shot a 45 on the day for the Raiders.

The team competes Tuesday, Sept. 13, at The Deuce at the National Golf Club in Kansas City.

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team went 1-1 last week, defeating Grain Valley, 9-0, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, and losing to rival St. Teresa's Academy, 7-2, on Wednesday, Sept. 7. The team plays Shawnee Mission East and Blue Valley North this week, and will host its annual doubles tournament on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Harmon Park.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team lost 12-25, 10-25, 22-25, to Lee's Summit on Thursday, Sept. 8. The team plays at Savannah on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
