The varsity field hockey team won its first game on the new Wornall Field artificial turf. The varsity boys swimming and diving team took second place in Independence. PHS hosted its first Back-to-School BBQ football game in three years. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Sept. 19, 2022.

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey won its first game on the new artificial field on the Wornall Campus, 1-0, against St. Joseph's Academy on Friday, Sept. 16. The team played the Angels again on Saturday, Sept. 17, falling 5-0. The JV squad plays Notre Dame de Sion on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team took second place at the Independence Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Henley Aquatic Center. The team scored a combined 275 points in the meet. The JV team won its competition in Independence, with a team score of 298 points. The squad will compete in Raytown on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

Football
The varsity football team held its first Back-to-School BBQ game in three years on Friday, Sept. 16, against St. Michael the Archangel. A huge crowd was on hand for the pregame Pep Rally and family activities before the big rivalry game. Unfortunately the Raiders were unable to come up with the victory, losing 35-0. The team will attempt to notch its first victory of the season Saturday, Sept. 24, against University Academy.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team secured third place at the Winnetonka Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17. The team went 3-0 in pool play, defeating Grain Valley, Central (St. Joseph) and Truman. The team upended North Kansas City in the quarterfinals in three sets, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19, before falling to Platte County in the semifinals. The JV squad traveled south to the Archie tournament and were victorious. The squad returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 20, as it hosts Benton High School.

Cross Country
The cross country team competed in the Platte County Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 15. The boys team placed eighth, with freshman Henry Pickert leading the way in 17th place. Four Pembroke Hill girls runners competed in the invitational. Senior Erin William was the top finisher in 27th place. The team competes Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Rim Rock Invitational in Lawrence, Kan.

Girls Tennis
The varsity girl tennis team hosted its annual doubles tournament on Saturday, Sept. 17. The team finished in fifth place in the tournament. The JV team hosts its doubles tournament Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Homestead Country Club.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team took fourth place at the Richmond Invitational at Shirkey Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Catherine Panko (6th), Eleanor Rasmus (7th) and Ava Rasmus (9th place) medaled. The team competes today, Monday, Sept. 18, at Shirkey Golf Course.
