Weekend Raider Update: Sept. 23, 2019

The varsity field hockey team went 2-1 on its trip to Oklahoma City to play Casady and Holland Hall. The varsity football team improved to 4-0 with a win over Bishop Ward. Check out the Weekend Raider Update for Sept. 23, 2019.

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey team went 2-1 on its trip to Oklahoma City to play Casady and Holland Hall. The team secured a victory Friday night, Sept. 20, by defeating Casady 1-0. The team began Saturday morning, Sept. 21, with a loss against Casady, 2-1, before defeating Holland Hall in the afternoon, 3-0. The JV squad went 1-2 on the trip, losing to Casady twice (2-1, 1-0) and defeating Holland Hall, 1-0. The team plays Tuesday, Sept. 24, at home against Notre Dame de Sion.

Football
The varsity football team improved to 4-0 on the season, defeating Bishop Ward 44-14. The team will play Lincoln College Preparatory Academy on Homecoming night, Friday, Sept. 27.

Boys Soccer
Varsity boys soccer lost two games in St. Louis over the weekend, losing to John Burroughs on Friday, Sept. 20, 3-0, then losing 3-0 to Southern Boone on Saturday, Sept. 21. The team returns to action Monday, Sept. 23, against Lincoln College Preparatory Academy at Interscholastic League Stadium.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team took second place at Swope Memorial Golf Course on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Junior Lilly Cooper shot the lowest score for the Raiders, shooting a 40 and taking third place individually. The team competes at Monday, Sept. 23, at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond.

Boys Swimming
The varsity boys swimming team took second place at Belton on Wednesday, Sept. 18, with a team score of 427. The team competes in the CoMo Invitational Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27-28, in Columbia.

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team upended Park Hill South, 8-1, on Thursday, Sept. 19. The team also defeated Notre Dame de Sion last week, 9-0. The team plays Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the St. Thomas Aquinas tournament at the Plaza Tennis Center.

Cross Country
The varsity cross country team competed Thursday, Sept. 19, at Platte Ridge Park in Platte City. The boys team took second place in the small school division. Juniors Jackson Chu, Jackson Hargroves and Jon Pallotto medaled for the boys. Junior Alice Guo and sophomore Ella Palmet medaled for the girls. The team next runs Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Pius X. 

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team toppled Notre Dame de Sion 23-25, 25-14, 25-22, on Thursday, Sept. 19. The team plays Tuesday, Sept. 24, at St. Joseph Benton.
