The varsity volleyball team won on Senior Night. The cross country team's season is off and running. The varsity football team held on for a victory. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Sept. 28, 2020.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team defeated Northland Christian on Senior Night last Thursday, Sept. 24, 25-15, 25-14, 25-14. The team followed it up with two victories at Cass Midway over the weekend, defeating Midway 25-12, 25-21 and Prairie View (Lacygne, Kan.) 25-9, 25-14. The team hopes to keep its winning streak alive as they play Tuesday, Sept. 29, at home versus Heritage Christian.

Cross Country
The varsity boys cross country team and members of the girls team competed on Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. Pius X. The boys team took fourth place out of nine teams and second of teams from Class 3.
Seniors Jackson Hargroves (5th) and Jackson Chu (9th) both medaled in a field of 60 runners. Girls cross country runner India Williams placed 16th and medaled in the girls race. The team competes Saturday, Oct. 3, at Grain Valley.

Football
The varsity football team went to 2-1 on the season Saturday, Sept. 26, by holding on to defeat University Academy, 17-14. The team plays Friday, Oct. 2, at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy. 

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team competed twice last week, winning the Odessa tournament at Shirkey golf course last Tuesday, Sept. 22, and defeating Truman last Thursday, Sept. 24, at Drumm Farm. Individually, junior Campbell Nystrom and sophomore Ava Rasmus finished 1 and 2, respectively, in the tournament, and Campbell medaled against Truman. The team plays at Shiloh Springs golf course Wednesday, Sept. 30.  

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team played some tough competition last week. The team began the week by defeating Park Hill South, 8-1. The team followed it up by going 2-1 in a quad, defeating Blue Valley West (4-1) and Olathe West (4-1), before succumbing to Shawnee Mission East (0-5). The team lost a very tough match against Blue Valley North (4-5), before bouncing back and defeating Blue Springs (9-0). The team hosts St. Teresa's Academy on Tuesday, Sept. 29, which is Senior Night for nine seniors.

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey team upended Kansas City-area rival Notre Dame de Sion last Thursday, 2-1. Juniors Tate Angrist and Piper Toney scored in the game, and senior Allie Pierce got the assist. The team will hold its Senior Night Thursday, Oct. 1, against Sion.

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team defeated Lincoln College Preparatory Academy last Wednesday, 6-2. Goals by senior Liam Weaver (2), and juniors Alex Post (2) and Corbin Bodamer (2). The team lost a heartbreaker to Blue Springs, 3-2, in two overtimes on Monday, Sept. 21. The team plays Saturday, Oct. 3, against St. James Academy.
