Boys swimming and diving competed in duals in Belton. Field hockey and boys soccer played in St. Louis and Springfield, respectively. Football notched its first victory of the season. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Sept. 7, 2021.

Boys Swimming and Diving
The varsity boys swimming and diving team competed in duals against St. Michael the Archangel and Ray-Pec last Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Belton. The team upended Ray-Pec, 113-43, and St. Michael, 117-33. It competes Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11, in Belton.

Field Hockey
The varsity field hockey team won its pool and went undefeated at the Gateway Classic Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 4-5, in St. Louis. The team opened the tournament with wins on Saturday over Male (Louisville, Ky.), 3-1, and Parkway South, 3-0, and finished its pool with a 7-0 victory over Parkway Central on Sunday. The team travels to Tulsa, Okla., Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11, for games against Holland Hall, Forth Worth Country Day and Casady School (Oklahoma City, Okla.)

Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team opened its season this week with a big 8-0 victory over Oak Grove on Thursday, Sept. 2. The team then headed to Springfield for the weekend, upending Kickapoo, 1-0, and losing a close match to Springfield Catholic, 2-1.

The team hosts the KC Classic Wednesday-Friday, Sept. 8-10. Teams in the tournament include Lee's Summit West, St. Michael the Archangel and Van Horn.

Football
The varsity football team gained its first victory of the season with a triumphant 41-0 victory of East (KC) High School. The team plays St. Michael the Archangel on Friday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m., at Lee's Summit High School.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team played two hard fought contests against Lee's Summit and St. Pius X last week. The team fell to Lee's Summit in four sets, 10-25, 25-22, 21-25, 11-25 on Tuesday, Aug. 31. It returned to action the next night and lost to St. Pius X in a thrilling five-set match, 22-25, 26-24, 22-25, 25-23, 11-15. The team faces Summit Christian Academy on Thursday, Sept. 9, in Phillips Gym.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team took third place at Blue Hills Country Club on Wednesday, Sept. 1, shooting a 197. The team also competed at Shiloh Springs on Monday, Aug. 30, shooting a 390. Campbell Nystrom placed sixth with an 87.

Girls Tennis
The varsity girls tennis team opened the season 1-1 last week. The team played a tough Liberty squad, losing 6-3 on Monday, Aug. 30. The squad shook off the loss and triumphed over Notre Dame de Sion, 9-0, on Wednesday, Sept. 1. The team hosts St. Teresa's Academy on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
