Weekend Raider Update: Sept. 8, 2020

The varsity girls golf team took third place at the Mo-Kan golf tournament at Blue Hills Country Club. The varsity volleyball squad upended rival St. Pius X in three sets. The varsity boys soccer team has started the season 2-0. Here is your Weekend Raider Update for Sept. 8, 2020.

Girls Golf
The varsity girls golf team took third place at the Mo-Kan golf tournament at Blue Hills Country Club Monday, Aug. 31, shooting a combined 392. Junior Campbell Nystrom finished in ninth place and earned a medal. The team returns to action Thursday, Sept. 10, at Swope Memorial Golf Course and Friday, Sept. 11, at Tiffany Greens Golf Club.

Volleyball
The varsity volleyball team had a huge week, defeating KC East Christian Academy 25-16, 25-7, 25-17 Monday, Aug. 31, and then upending rival St. Pius X, 25-15, 25-18, 25-14. The team hosts Bishop LeBlond today, Tuesday, Sept. 8. 

Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team has jumped out to a 2-0 record, with a victory last Thursday over Oak Grove, 5-0. The team hosts the KC Classic this week, with games against Guadalupe Centers, St. Michael the Archangel and Van Horn. 

Football
The varsity football team secured its first victory of the season with a 42-14 victory over Kansas City East High School. The team plays its home opener this Friday, Sept. 11, against St. Michael the Archangel. 

Girls Tennis
After having their first two matches canceled, the varsity girls tennis team will host St. Teresa's Academy Wednesday, Sept. 9. The match is also Senior Night for nine tennis players. Congratulations and good luck, Raiders!
