The Annual Fund raises more than $1.3 million each year in support of student success, outstanding teachers and coaches and small class sizes. Alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni and other friends ensure Pembroke Hill continues to deliver a robust and expansive educational program in support of our mission: Together, cultivating the best in each, for the benefit of all.
The support of the PHS community is essential to our strength.
Donations from alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni and other friends ensure Pembroke Hill maintains its outstanding teachers and coaches, small class sizes and student success in the arts, athletics and academics
The annual fund provides 7 percent of Pembroke Hill School's annual operating budget, closing the gap between tuition and the cost to educate our students.
The AnnualFund continues to be essential to the school’s operating funds as it helps bridge the gap between the actual cost of educating a student and tuition. We are so grateful to AnnualFund donors, and we intend to grow this program substantially.
It is because of our supporters that our school is thriving with strong enrollment, innovative academic and extracurricular programs, talented students, and dedicated faculty and staff. Our students are excelling in all areas of school life including in academics, arts and athletics.
Through the many gifts we receive from members of our community, we can provide outstanding experiences for students founded in the philosophy of our promise that every child is known, cared for and valued. We accomplish this by offering small classes: two teachers in every classroom in the early childhood and lower schools, a school-wide student:teacher ratio of 11 to 1, and an average class size of 15 students. This environment fosters deeper learning, a sense of community and the development of meaningful connections between students and teachers that are so important to student growth.
Gifts to the school also allow us to offer our faculty exciting professional development opportunities that bring new ideas and renewed energy to our classrooms. Additionally, our instructional coaches support faculty members through division-wide programs, small group sessions and individual mentoring.
The health and wellness of our students continues to be one of our highest priorities.
Donors’ support enables us to establish a network of resources for students including counselors, learning specialists, a nurse and educational programs in areas such as mindfulness and healthy lifestyle choices.
Our extensive financial aid program allows 25 percent of our students to receive tuition assistance. This helps our school be a viable option for many students whose families would not otherwise be able to enroll their children at Pembroke Hill.
Gifts from across the school community drive the success of our Annual Fund. Leadership gifts at the Vassie James Hill Society level are a vital component. Every gift, whether large or small, makes a tangible difference to our students and teachers.
