John has been a member of several outstanding educational development offices on both the collegiate and independent school level. Previously, he was the associate director of development for Gilman School in Baltimore, Md. (Gilman is an independent school serving 1,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12.) In this role, he was responsible for managing all aspects of campaign operations including major gifts, gift planning and prospect management and research. Prior to Gilman, John served as associate director of development for Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University; and associate director of annual giving for athletics at the University of Richmond.
John and his wife, Erin, have three children; Penny (8), William (6), and Taylor (2). Penny and William are excited to start at PHS this school year.
A graduate of the University of Richmond, John earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics as well as a master of business administration degree. While in college, he played on the football and baseball teams.
Barb comes to Pembroke Hill with a wealth of development experience in senior positions at several Kansas City area institutions. At the University of Missouri - Kansas City, she served in a variety of roles including assistant vice chancellor for advancement and assistant vice chancellor for campaign planning. She has also been associated with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art as senior development officer for individual and major gifts; KU Endowment Association as assistant vice president, constituent development; and the University of Kansas Health System as senior director, major gifts.
Barb holds both a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a law degree from Washburn University.
